This year, eight nominees are competing for Best Supporting Actor in the Kim Jisweck Award. Two nominees are from South Korea, while one each comes from Japan, Kyrgyzstan, Taiwan, the Philippines, and India. Films are competing to win awards. The festival will announce the winners on the 11th, the final day of the event.
In addition to the main award category, organizers will present several additional awards. These awards include the ‘New Current Award,’ which recognizes young Asian filmmakers. The ‘Flash Forward’ competition category also supports emerging filmmakers from around the globe.
The organizing committee of this year’s Busan International Film Festival won more honors for their outstanding contributions to Asian film art and culture. His first two releases in 1997 were also new films, Serpent’s Path and Cloud. The audience will see two films at the festival.
