National Film Award-2023 Jury Board
National Film Awards-2023 Jury Board has been formed to judge the best films and talents
The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has constituted a 13-member jury board to select the winners of the National Film Awards-2023. This board will evaluate the films released in the previous year and recommend the recipients based on their evaluation.

Music director and lyricist Prince Mahmud, a prominent figure in the anti-discrimination movement, joined the board. The ministry announced actor Ilyas Kanchan, actress Opi Karim and vocalist Nazmun Munira Nancy as jury board members on September 15. The Additional Secretary (Films) heads the Jury Board.
Primary function of National Film Awards-2023
The jury board’s primary task is to monitor films released in 2023 and recommend names for awards in various categories. If the Board does not publish a prior notice, it will issue a call for film submissions within a specified deadline. After collecting the films, the board will screen, review and evaluate them before sending their recommendations to the ministry. The Board may recommend more than one film and person for the award, except in the case of Lifetime Awards. If the Board decides not to recommend a particular case, it must provide a justification. The Jury Board will submit main and alternate recommendations for each award, including biographies of the recommended individuals. The Board shall abide by the existing principles while discharging its duties and making recommendations for National Film Awards.
